A WW2 British naval issue Waltham stopwatch, this watch was introduced in the early 1940's for the specific use to time the sonar pings from a submerged object U boats were the common targets. This watch is bieng sold as a display item as it sadly no longer works, dial is fully marked as you can see does have age related blemishes, orginal hand does have some very light rust blemishes, crystal original but has yellowed, bow and crown in good order with some light brassing, front and rear covers are screw type and come on and off the case well, rear cover fully marked as you can see, inner dust cover snap type and is tight to the case, case condition is in good used order with age related wear and tear, the case measures 57mm across, the movement is in clean condition for its age, fully signed and dated for 1943, movement is fully wound, it looks like the hair spring is broken, also the main hand is loose to the stem, as we have said bieng sold as a display item a nice WW2 period naval collectable.
