A WW2 R.A.F. navigator / observors pocketwatch.

The watch has a very good original black porcelain dial, it does have some very slight hairlines from the twelve to the the six, but these are very light and does not detract from the watch,, dial is marked R13MU Swiss made, nice clear white numbers, desirable sub-second dial, hands all original with paint still intact and hands show no blemishes, hands and numbers non luminous due to the type and use of the watch, good clear crystal with light surface scratches, good original crown and bow with no plate wear.

The watch case is the standard nickel plated case, no plate wear but as it is unpolished does have some blemishes that can be polished out but i think it is better to see the aged patina to an item, front and rear covers are snap fit and fit well to the case, the rear cover is marked A.M. 6E/50 9465/41 this makes it a Air Ministry 1941 issue navigators / observors watch, as you can see it was originaly destined to be a standard A.M. pocketwatch with the 6E/340 bieng the original I.D. and then a new issue mark added.

The movement is a very clean Swiss made 15 jewel movement, it winds well, runs well, hands adjust smoothly, keeps very good time over a 24 hour period, as with all older time pieces a service and clean is advised.

A chance to own a rarer 6E/50 pocketwatch as most were the more common white dial example, in a very good original and used condition a nice WW2 R.A.F. collectable.
