WW1 black dial trench watch.

Porcelain dial is in super crack free condition, has a white sub second dial, the numbers are marked in radium luminous paint (no longer glows), the hands are all original to the watch and as you can see do have some light rusting, crystal is a replacement, crown original onion shaped crown.

Watch case is nickel, has wear and tear through age and use, it has fixed wire lugs which are all intact and no repairs, watch case measures 35mm across excluding the crown, front and rear covers are screw type and screw smoothly on and off the case, rear cover marked pure nickel 467243, watch comes on a non period black leather strap.

The movement is a Swiss made 15 jewel 3 bar type, winds well runs for over 15 hours on a single wind, hands adjust smoothly, keeps very good time, i would advise a service and clean by your own jeweller to keep this fine old watch running well.

This is a very collectable trench watch noted in Military Timepieces by Z.M. Wesolowski on page 27. A stunning 1917 trench watch in as found condition a great addition to any collection.
